So sweet it gives me a toothache.

This is Essence Sweet as Candy (I thought the title was clever XD), aka the most perfect sheer pink ever. Three coats here and it was a little too pale, I'll do two next time unless I'm wearing it on its own. The cool thing about this color is that it builds up, it doesn't just look like a clear. So, this is my official french mani/demure downtime polish. The fact that it was $1 doesn't hurt its case either....

swirly

This is Wet n' Wild white topped with CC Screamin' Fuchsia, Orange Revenge, and Yell-Oh! This is, of course, water marbled. I wanted this to look like strawberry lemonade but it received a lot of comments relating to ice cream and candy. Whatever. Anywho, this is so yummy looking, I'm really proud of it! Especially my ring finger (which is why you all get an extra close up).

Orly Rage

Is so pretty! A foil-y rose gold. I'm really late to the party on this one, sorry about that *insert sheepish grin here* Two coats, I believe. It didn't wear very well.

ChG Midnight Mission

Because I'm a navy addict. It's a pigmented navy with a whole lot of silver shimmer. I've never seen anything quite like this, so I had to buy it.
My birthday's coming up, one more week. I've already gotten $100. That buys a lot of nail polish....

I haven't forgotten you!

I'm in the play (!) and debate team and I am writing a novel and I have a lot going on, okay? I'm really sorry, and I promise I'm not quitting th blog, but there is too much going on in my life for me to post more than a few times a week. Maybe less. I'm really sorry, I wish I could do more but, when it comes down to it, blogging is my last priority. The show will close in eight weeks, that's a long way away but I promise that when it comes I'll be here more often. Again, I'm really sorry.

I'm so sorry!!!! But, here's a few NOTDs to make up for it!

SH Purple Gala (PLEASE CLICK. You need to see the complexities of this polish)

ChG Nova (sucky pic due to no sun today, sorry :/ )

Franken (mid toned red purple with cool shimmer)

Gradient of OPI Mad as a Hatter down Ulta Fresh Water Pearl. Pretty.

I couldn't work my computer and I've been swamped with school work. I tried out for the fall play at my school, wish me luck! The cast list gets posted tomorrow.

How to deal with horrible people, Lesson 1

So, on my formspring (I have one because I like to laugh at the mean comments people leave, they don't really make me insecure) somebody (a former cheerleader) asked why I did cheer-leading. I just wanted to post my answer because I think a lot of people deal with exclusion and I want them to know that they aren't alone, hang in there, I promise things will get better.

"Ah. I knew this was going to come up. You ask because I didn't fit in, because I was obviously not one of the group, right?
I did it because I love to challenge myself to try new things, because I had always wanted a chance to try gymnastics and I was flexible and light. I did it because it seemed so different, so out-there.
Also, I did it because I had this mythical image of high school, of cheerleaders being the pick of the crop. I'm horrible at flirting, talking to someone I like leaves me a wreak, I just thought that maybe some of that cool would rub off on me and make me how I wanted to be.
I don't think it was a mistake, it taught me a lot about myself. I learned what my physical limits are, and, more importantly, I learned that I have a place where people love me. I have friends that love me because I'm smart, completely un-cool, idiotic, sometimes boy-crazy, compassionate, and myself. I learned that I don't really need to change.
I also learned about prejudice. I know that the cheerleaders (and former cheerleaders) don't want to hear that they acted in a way that could easily be considered racist but, they did. I ate lunch everyday during the summer either alone or with Alonza and her group. They didn't try to be excluded by you all, and neither did I. Nobody invited me to go out with the group, but they let me in with them. Once Alonza and I were running and she told me, crying, that all the white girls hated her. And you know what, it sure looked like they did. I told her that I was excluded, that they didn't like me much either. We both cried and ran and then decided that you all really didn't matter that much. I'm sorry, but a bunch of cheerleaders who don't really care for me anyway aren't worth my time.
I know this is long, but it's really the truth. I don't want to offend anyone, but honestly, all the cheerleaders made me feel like dirt. I thought so much about quitting, I'm shocked that I didn't. I did it because I thought I would love it, and I do love flying, but the cheerleaders aren't 'my' people. I didn't belong. But that's okay now, because I have my friends who make me laugh and never ever leave me alone to cry over my lunch in a thai restaurant."

My Soul-Mani

I used Asami's basic idea but with different polishes and achieved a really different result.
I used OPI Russian Navy for a base color then I dabbed on with a barely wet brush (not in this order, sorry, I didn't take notes while painting)
*Zoya Kotori
*DS Mystery
*LA Girls Punk
*Sinful What's Your Name
*ChG Kaleidoscope Him Out
*ChG Fairy Dust
*A random Japanese sheer polish with shimmer
The pictures don't do this justice at all, in real life it has depth and shimmer of all colors with just a twinkle of holo. The pictures make it look flat, trust me, it's much better in real life. I'll take more pictures in the morning when it's sunny, okay?
And I know that this is a lot of pics (11!) but I really want to show you as much as possible so maybe you can comprehend this gorgeousness.

mermaid nails

Zoya Charla + Nfu Oh 54. These are HOT! The flakies are subtle and just enhance the micro-flakies already in Charla. I'm proud to say that this is my own creation, I for one have never seen this combo before. So pretty!

A good day

I got an iPhone! Yay! And I'm wearing ChG Sun Worshiper, a great neon tangerine. Tomorrow I'm going to the beach for a few days, but I should be back posting on Wednesday. Two coats of color over two coats of white.

Why haven't I found this sooner?

SH Wet Cement, aka the most perfect grey that ever existed. Not too light, not too dark, not blue toned, no odd shimmer. It's love. At $3 this love is less expensive than RBL, which I'd have to sell my first born to haul from (again, I'm still recovering from last year). Two coats, and this has a perfect formula.

Also, we have SH Cosmic Blue (they were buy 2 get 1 free, and I wanted Wet Cement and a back up of Purple Pizzazz [their spelling, not mine]). A shimmer blue, not quite a frost, with both bar and round holographic glitter. Unique for sure. If the formula was a little more jelly-ish this would work better, but alas, the last coat covers up previous coat's glitter. Three coats, two left a little bit of balding.

I fixed it :)

I'm now using Flickr. Much better!

Hey! Um, six days left on the giveaway (here) and if you go here and comment with a response on this post (yes, the one you are reading this second) then you can get an extra entry. Easy enough, right?
Cool beans.
Shanna and I got together and I did her nails all skittle-y! I have a very similar manicure here. She took the picture with my camera, I wouldn't have posted it but I just thought it was too funny.

We drank tea (white peony, if you were wondering) and planned my birthday bash. My birthday is in 32 days, so it's time to get my act together. A month sounds like a lot but I'm actually planning it for mid-September so we can catch the fair-enough weather. More details later, if you'd like.
I wore Pure Ice (Walmart $2) Wild Thing. This is the first polish I've come across in a while that I was ALMOST uncomfortable leaving the house in. Almost. It's a little 'out there', obviously not the thing for conservative ladies.
