Seriously Disturbed (with my own habits)

I hadn't worn MAC Seriously Hip since purchasing it over a year ago. That really bothered me (my consumerism is starting to do that, but we'll save that for another post), so I decided to finally get some use out of it. I wore it for a few days plain and then layered Butter London's A Tart With a Heart on top for the easiest galaxy nails you ever did see. Love the final result- hate the final pricetag.

I really should do a post on the consumerism that runs rampant in the polish community and how that's affected me, a student. But I wouldn't want to bore you all to tears. Hmmm.

Shameful Cuticles (but lookit that polish)

I make it a rule to moisturize before taking pics. I suppose I got so excited by this polish (and the maybe-sorta sunshine) that I didn't. I am SO sorry, I almost didn't post this because those cuticles could not be uglier and the nails aren't great either (these pics are from a month ago, my nails are much longer now).

Anyway, I've worn Lippmann Sugar Daddy three times since receiving it, which puts it on par with Chanel Malice for repeated use. I just love how it almost is a neutral but is a bajillion times more interesting. LOVE IT.

I'm not even a huge duochrome addict (don't kill me!), but all the colors are so pretty.

China Nails

This is Pure Ice Draped in Satin with an Ulta polish (I don't remember the name, sorry!) stamped on top using my MASH plates.
I really adore this combination.

Some products in this post were sent to me for review.

Sation Dance with the Drummer

A super gorgeous, dusty navy blue. I love this. Sation got it right with this one (Dance with the Drummer, in case you didn't read the post title).

Then I put Sation Can Buy Me Love on top. There we go, look at that black glitter (!). It really makes it come alive, no?

What would you call this color?

Brown? Gunmetal?
Hmmm. It's a dark grey that definitely leans brown (or brown that leans grey) loaded up with silver shimmer.

First pic is Sation I'm With the Bandana (how does that name even make sense for this color?). Second pic has Sation Oh My Gaudy thrown on top.
I adore this combination.

Another Sation for you

'Can Buy Me Love' is impossible to photograph but actually really pretty. I didn't think I'd like it (I am not a bar glitter fan in the slightest), but the charming purple and blue combo won me over. It just looks super festive in a non-denominational kind of way! And yes, yes there is some black glitter in there. So pretty!

I wore it as one coat over a black creme polish.

This is the best thing that's ever been on my nails. Ever.

So, I started with my new favorite polish: Chanel Malice. I splurged on this one immediately following hitting "submit" on the application to my #1 school out of hopes it'd distract me. Well, it did.
I wore it for three days, which isn't usual at all for a polish addict like myself. It's so glowy and beautiful.

But at some point I realized I had another untried that I wanted to use. I didn't want to remove Malice, like, ever, so I just tossed another polish on top. The result was breathtaking.
That's Sephora by OPI It's Real, a real 18k gold topcoat.
The retail value of this manicure (as totaled by its components  not labor and such) is the most expensive that's ever been on my nails: $60. But it looks so rich, doesn't it?
I wore it for another three days. The lesson here is that gold and red look gorgeous, real gold makes everything even more luxe, and Chanel can have my wallet and soul if I can live in their creations. That is all.

Sation's like that indie (or all of those indies) that have gorgeous colors but are never in stock. Except, Sation's in stock, and considerably cheaper. There's something undeniably unique, though, about these glitters.

To start, here's a nude of theirs. It's called 'Down & Dirty Flirty'. It's a bit pinker than the usual beige, and I love that. I think it plays off my skin tone very nicely.

On that I layered 'Oh My Gaudy', a super complicated glitter topcoat. It has silver foil, red large glitters, gold small ones, and then red and silver bar glitters. It does have a tendency to settle, so make sure to shake it up!

Here's a close up of Gaudy. So unique, isn't it?!
