China Glaze For Audrey

I have another pic for you today, this polish is the infamous China Glaze For Audrey, a nail polish as close to Tiffany Box Blue as legally possible seeing as Tiffany's holds a patent for their color. This is on my icky toes but I just ADORE blue polish on toes; it's so unexpected. This color has held on through flip flops all this week. Thumbs up in my book! The color is somewhere between these two pics, my camera couldn't capture it though. Just don't pay attention to my shoes and camera cord.

Color Club Yell-Oh!

I only own two yellows, Zoya Pippa and CC Yell-Oh!, I'll post on Pippa later. Today's post is on the awesomely neon Yell-Oh! which is a highlighter yellow-y greenish (depending on the skin tone of whose wearing it) creme nail polish. This yellow wasn't too streaky for me (yay!) but it was a bit sheer (boo!) so my VNL (visible nail line) is there. I went to a dance last night and the theme was neon so that's what promted the usage of this polish, I got tons of compliments on it. I had cheer practice this morning and the polish stayed on without a single chip! I love it when a polish wears well. Ignore the orange smudge on my middle finger, I did my friend's nails as well.

Today I graduated into the world of nailpolish blog-dom, I used my first OPI. Because I change my color so often (think everyday) I never saw it nessasary to spend $10 on a single bottle of polish. I recentally had a HUGE haul (I'll post later, I recived 32 polishes) I bought two OPIs. The OPI I swatched today is a stunning creme lilac, creativally named (can you hear my sarcasm?) Do You Lilac It?, the truth of the matter is that I do, I will be purchasing OPI again sometime. This color was a bit streaky and shows a little bit of balding but nothing major.  I really enjoy appling with the pro-wide brush, it covers my nails in about two strokes. By the way, my application is improving by leaps and bounds! Look at how good I'm getting! Ignore my cell phone in the pictures as well as my discusting desk.

TOES! CC Worth the Risque

Hello! Now I have some ugly toe pics to share as they are the only picture I managed to snap before the sun hid away. I used Color Club Worth the Risque, which applied beautifly. I love this polish! It became opaque in three coats. Worth te Risque is a silver based holo. I promise next sunny day that I'm wearing this (on my fingers at least) I'll add another pic.

Zoya Kotori

Hello, second post today! I used Zoya Kotori for this mani and I must say, I hate it! The polish is finiky and sheer resulting in the use of an un-godly six coats. Yup. Six. Coats. With that said, once the polish is applied and has dried (give it THREE HOURS) it becomes a beautiful black/blue with shimmerish-glitter. I love this (sorta) but don't buy it unless you want these insane problems.

So Sorry!

I know, I've been gone awhile. Sorry, I had school work and a trip to South America to plan out. With my appologies I bring..... NAIL ART! I got a Konad and used it along with Zoya Lael and Malia to murder my Zoya Trixie manicure, fine by me! I used the umbrella and fireworks thing on stamp M8 to do this, I was inspired by NailJuice's awesome Tool-icure.

Custom Kicks

Hello again! So far so good with the blog, right? WRONG! Two reasons/problems:

  1. There is nobody reading this. Yup, so far no one has looked at my site :(.
  2. I lost my camera battery charger. Without a battery I cannot take my crummy pictures. Something will have to be done about this (time for a new camera?).

Today I have for you a polish that I was excited to find in the mail- CG Custom Kicks. Unfortunately, on me this turned grass green. Don't get me wrong- I love me some green- but I wanted TEAL. Where I live it isn't very sunny so the problem might have been inadequate lighting. The formula was thin and runny, I had absolutely no control over the polish (which is never a good thing). All of those issues pale in comparison to my true problem with this polish, it

stained my nails and cuticles. I don't know what would have happened if I had actually remembered to put a base coat on but still..... Stained nails aren't acceptable. For now I'm saving this polish for nail art. On a side note; my friend (love ya Helene!) decorated my hand in class.... it looks AWESOME!

<- True polish color.... ALMOST (it's a bit greener and a tad darker in real-life)

My Franken

Hello everyone!
Sooooooo, I've franked (mixed my own polish, check out http://drfrankenpolish.wordpress.com/ , she's the franken master). I've frankened polish several times before but this one is different, it's an eye shadow franken! To make it I added a dark purple and a dark brown eyeshadow to Revlon 'Night Light'. 'Night Light' is waaaaay too sheer for my tastes so I decided to keep it's purpley flash but make it a whole lot darker. I failed. My franken (dubbed 'Purple with Rage') is a amazing mid-tone purple with a red flash, it's about as strange as it sounds. The finish on it is a boring dull (not matte) shine. To jazz it up a bit I added a clear coat, now it shines and sparkles in the light. Tres chic!

Revvvolution

So, second post already! Whoot! Back on topic.... Today I am posting my NOTD, Revvvolution (with three 'v's) by Color Club. Revvvolution is a greyed black (rather charcol-y) with holographic glitter. I must say, this is my first holo ever and I adore it! I don't know if it's the perfect grey or the prettttttty holo glitter but this is easily one of my favorite polishes ever. I bought it for about $2.50 (then $6 dollars shipping), this polish was the price of drugstore nail polish but it's grey (I can't seem to find cheap grey polish) and it's holo! Pretty special....
The pictures are a bit blurry for two reasons, a. so you can see the holo effect better,  and b. because my camera doesn't like it's macro setting. Go figure. I think I go the basic color down pretty well however the polish is much more holo-y in real life.

One more note; I'm on Google! Yups, I just submitted my site to
Search Engine Submission - AddMe

First Post! (and 88Beauty Supply haul)

Wheeeeeeee! Hello all, I'm Allya. I'm a teenager. For as long as I can remember I've loved nails and so this blog is to share my reviews and nail art designs with you, the reader. I don't know about you but I am pumped! I will try to post daily (or more) but forgive me if I don't, I do have a life outside of stinky chemicals that paint my hands pretty colors. I mentioned previously my nail art, I do a whole bunch of freehand work (even on my right hand).
ON TO THE HAUL! I ordered three polishes from 88Beauty Supply. Let me start off by saying that these guys are AMAZING! I ordered the polishes on Friday, today is Monday and they came this afternoon. How cool is that?! I spent $14 (including shipping) and bought CG Custom Kicks, CC Revvvolution, and CC Worth the Risque. From the first time I saw WtR I knew that it needed to be mine. I've never owned a holo before and it was so pretty.... So I figured while I was paying six dollar shipping might as well order another holo and a pretty teal color. I will swatch these soon.
