And This Little Piggy

This is super pretty in the bottle, a sheer dark pink with gold and blue micro glitter, I mean, blue micro glitter, come on! But, on the nail it doesn't quite deliver. I layered this over an opaque nude just because I knew VNL was otherwise inevitable (plus I already had the nude on, bonus!). Yeah, it's pretty but it's not what I wanted :(. I think I will try it over black next, that would look nice. And, I don't say this often, but enlarge the pics, you have to see it super close up, so pretty! (OPI And This Little Piggy)

Congo Bongo

I dislike the name of this, I just don't like it. The polish, though, I do like. It's a nude with a pink shimmer, very unique. It's not perfect for my skintone, but it's close enough. This is three coats. I could see this working in a professional environment, it's not an obvious polish but it is pretty. And, I just filed my nails so they look a little ragged, please ignore that!

Who needs Chanel?

When I can franken Paradoxal with my odds n' ends polishes? I bought all of these polishes to actually wear, so I spent no money specifically on this. Super pretty, too. The pictures won't show you how close and dupe-y this really looks, I couldn't capture it. I never even considered the Chanel but I saw ONE pic I liked so I decided I needed it. Well, $20 polish is not in my budget (although, strangely, the $70 Coach bag I bought was. It was on sale *smiles sheepishly*) so I made it. I used:
WnW Black
WnW White
Zoya Valerie
Sinful Jasmine Jazz
ChG Spontaneous
WnW Ice Blue (perfect shimmer :) )
Now, I've never seen Paradoxal in real life, so I don't know if this is perfect, but it looks close. For those of you that own the real deal, how'd I do?

An Award? For Me?

I was awarded this award by Candy Coated Tips, thank you! Let's just take a moment to thank Ms. Jackie, she is so sweet, she always has something nice to say. Also, I love her blog :)

Copy the award above, place it on your blog - link your blog back to me and follow the rules below.

The rules are to tag 5 !

1. Selina
2. Sophia
3. My Simple Little Pleasures
4. Lacquer Laine
5. Asami
Then to tell 5 things about yourself:
1. I don't have a 4.0 GPA. I'd consider myself pretty intelligent, I mean, I understand stuff, but due to some complications and a C+ in history (such a hard teacher!) I don't have a 4.0, not even close.
2. I stayed up until 4AM this morning watching season two of Grey's Anatomy. Yeah, new obsession.
3. I'm painfully insecure sometimes, but my friends make it all better by being so supportive.
4. I say 'quote of the day' at least five separate times a day whenever I hear something funny. My favorite ones? 'Why are you always naked at school?' and 'Wow! I didn't notice you were wearing anything today!'. Both of those have long stories behind them, taken out of context they're hilarious.
5. I write everyday. I have a passion for writing so I make sure to practice every single day. I write fan fictions on fanfiction.net, I'm working on a novel called Honey, I keep a diary. I love to write, and I'm an emotional writer, more often than not (if it's a sad piece) I end up crying.

And, another award! Same lovely lady, and same people I've already tagged :).
The instructions:

1.Thank the person who gave this award to you.
2.Copy the award and put it on your blog.

3.List 3 things which you love about your self.

Okay...
1. I love my eyes, I have really long eyelashes and very 'open' chocolate eyes.
2. I love my ability to forgive people, though it does get me in hot water when they just aren't nice people.
3. I love my writing, not essays (hate those) but my honest-to-goodness writing. I think it's actually pretty good.

4.Post a picture you love.

They are my best friends (I'm the brunette)and this is shows us perfectly. We're the kind of people who can't hold still long enough to take a good photo, we laugh and joke and, sometimes, cry together. They are so sweet, I'm so lucky to have the two of them in my life.

I love receiving awards (don't we all!). If you have one for me, be sure to mention it in a comment, I'd hate to miss one :)

OMBRE

It gets darker as it moves towards my thumb.
Pinky to thumb the colors are *drum roll please*
ChG Agent Lavender
OPI Do You Lilac It?
ChG Spontaneous
A FRANKEN (it fit perfectly!)
Zoya Lael
I really like all of these together, I have no eye for color (funny that comes from a nail blogger) but these all seem to fit. This is a super easy way to have an attention getting mani, no artistic skills or fancy tools required. If you have a manicure you've done based off of one of mine, show me it! Email me at paintedtips@gmail.com. I love to hear from you! If you have a request, you should email too, I'll make sure to do it for you :)

OMG! 200 of you read this?

That is more exciting than anything ever has been (for me at least)! 200 people... that's a lot of nails. One of my best friend's (I have 8 or so, don't judge) is my luck number 200. It's indescribable, my one goal in life is to be something, have people know me, leave a legacy. Now, a nail blog wasn't my imagined way of accomplishing this, but I'm a teen ager, I have my whole life ahead of me and I've already done this. I can't even begin to tell you all how thankful I am. Now, I know I've called 'giveaway' often but haven't done one in a while, but let me assure you, I'll have some WICKED Japanese polishes for you all. Thank you so much for following and reading and commenting and just generally making my day :)

Charla

Zoya Charla. This is so pretty, so so so pretty. So pretty I wore it for three days *GASP*. Please note, I don't ever wear polish for more than two days. Ever. Like, it's been a year since that last happened. After three days it didn't look new, it was a little chipped with major tip wear BUT I went rock climbing and swimming and played a whole lot of cards. Stamped with ChG Millennium, forgot which plate.

Some Zoya Skittles :)

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW! I'm so excited! So, excitement in my world translates to sparkly skittles (makes sense, eh?). Here are some of my new acquisitions (read, 2 hours ago), a little of the Zoya Sparkle Collection. I bought Charla, Alegra, Ivanka, and Mimi. However, I have five fingers per a hand, so clearly Sienna needed to join in the mix.
Thumb, Mimi

Index, Ivanka

Middle, Alegra

Ring, Charla

Pinky, Sienna

All together

And my review:
I'm going to try to say all the things you haven't heard yet, forgive me if I can't as this collection has gotten so much buzz. The name on everybody's lips is Charla, a stunner for sure but not, in my opinion, the only good to come from this collection. From what I bought, the only consistencies I've found are the glitter in the sheer base (be warned, 3ish coats. Not that bad but still, be aware) and the POP these give. These scream summer to me, Charla looks like an ocean, Ivanka looks like money (and face it, I need a summer job). Sienna isn't part of this collection, it doesn't have quite the right depth, duo chrominess, or amount of sparkle. These aren't BAM in your face glitters or duo chromes, but they are bright enough to not be subtle. Mimi is everything I wanted Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl to be, it was a disappointment due to how sheer it is. I haven't heard Alegra's praises sung, but if you are a pink/raspberry girl, this is for you. It's a perfect summer berry color that sparkles and shines :). These probably look beyond awesome over black, my friend tried Charla over white and it was cool :). These are, just in case you haven't already heard, micro glitters. They don't have that large particle size but, as you guessed, a much smaller one. The glitter in all of these is a shade lighter and a shade darker than the base, which gives them amazing depth. I may buy back ups, not just of Charla, but of them all. And, I suppose I will go buy the rest of the collection.

A quick break from studying

I went to a mobile zoo with my friends, it was cool :) I felt bad for all the caged animals, though. I'm digging the pattern on the first snake, yellow and purple

Also, we ate donuts, like, a lot of donuts. There's a place by my school where you can buy a bucket of donuts for cheap. We bought 3 buckets for a math project, I'll let you decide if that was a good idea.

And, because this is a nail blog, here's Nfu Oh 54 and SH Hidden Treasure (on middle) layered over black. My cleanup was literally non-existent

GNOMES

That is all. (idea stolen from the Daily Nail)

Finals

They are coming. I'm off of school in two weeks, but busy for another week after that. I'll try to post, but no where near daily. I still do my nails everyday (to help relax) so, when I'm 'back' I'll have plenty to show you all. Also, I'm working like a mad-woman to earn some moohlahs for a giveaway. That will happen when I'm at 200 followers and when I get back from Japan. I'm going to Japan for 3 weeks this summer, I want to get some super tacky hello kitty acrylic nails :). So, you all want a giveaway? What should the prize be?
This is AA (American Apparel) Butter

and AA Malibu Green

Both are from the new collection :)

Double the trouble

It's a double water marble! I don't remember which colors I used. Sorry :(
