Butter London No More Waity Kaitie redux

Well, I swatched this once before, but thought it could use a better picture. It's such a pretty polish, a murky base and bright lavender glitter.

I Dare to Wear!

Mmmm, these are pretty polishes. I have to say, Dare to Wear is quickly becoming one of my favorite polish brands. I had not anticipated liking these so much and have in fact worn some of them post-swatching *GASP*. Currently, actually, I have a quite pretty rose manicure with a base of Always and Forever and flowers done in Angel From Above with itty-bitty Moon River (not pictured, I lost my swatch of that. I'll do another soon for you all) leaves. Please note, I also lost the swatch of Our Sweet Eden, but I'll post it when I locate/re-swatch it.

Any way, these are all so unique, but I'll do the talking after the pictures.

Shangri-La- Okay, this one has a story. Basically, I'm not a turquoise polish fan. I'm a teenager and I just find SO many of my peers to wear that same turquoise frost that seems so abundant at Rite-Aid. Not to be a snob, but really, it always looks rather off-putting to me. So, I try to avoid that look. I have nothing at all against bright polish (clearly), turquoise just doesn't do it for me usually.
So, when I opened the package and saw Shangri-La, I figured I'd swatch it and give it to a friend (Helene) who would wear it more than I. Well, sorry Helene, but I LOVE THIS POLISH. It's so pretty, a blue base with no frost at all, just pretty green shimmer. I am so sorry, Shangri-La for expecting so little of you when you are so absolutely gorgeous. So, yeah, it's a keeper.

My Sweet Dreams- Looks so pink with one coat, gradually growing redder and then oranger with two and three coats. It's pretty, but not as mindblowing as the other colors.

Always and Forever- Mauve. I know mauve isn't loved by many of the polish crowd, but this is that special mauve. That dirty, greyed out, trendy mauve. Just a bit more mauve that the mauves of last year, a little more classic. I actually love this polish the most. It's work-appropriate and so pretty and classic. ADORE.

Angel From Above- A pretty light lavender. I think there might be some slight shimmer in there, but it's practically invisible on the nail. Opaque in three coats.

The items in the post were sent to me for review. This did not impact my opinion of them or comments on them.

So I've just spent the past hour watermarking....

Swatching is time consuming. Watermarking is too. Swatching is semi-necessary (unless y'all want less frequent posts). Watermarking seems entirely pointless until someone steals your pictures. I like swatching. I hate watermarking.

Okay, enough whining.

The point is that, because of the past hour's activities, I have enough pictures to put up here for a few weeks! Y'all ready?

Some recently swatched (and labeled) OPIs, because I find them on sale (Not Like the Movies and No Room for the Blues) frequently, or I just want them. So I keep acquiring more. Guy Meets Gal-Vaston (from the Texas collection) is two coats layered over two coats of Finger Paints Blank Canvas Cream to increase opacity. I did, however, lose the pretty squishy finish because of this layering.

I MISSED MY TWO YEAR BLOG-ANNIVERSARY! I'm actually pretty upset, it happened in the beginning of May. It totally slipped my mind, and by the time I remembered, it was too late! Oh well, there's always next year....
Two years, though. That's a long time. That's a really long time. Two years and several hundred bottles of polish later, where am I? In high school. With a blog that almost has 410 followers. And over 71 THOUSAND hits. And two dogs.
So, a lot has changed.

Now, look at my nails. They're pretty.

A watermarble with SH Mint Sorbet, Mellow Yellow, Lacey Lilac, and Wet Cement. WnW Tickled Pink. Lots of bubbles, I'm a bit out of practice.


ChG Ick-a-body. Lots of compliments, weird, as it is a Halloween color. Which I wore in May. Fail?


Lippmann My Romance. My perfect barely there shade. Boring, yes, but so elegant. After watching the Shopping Channel last night (I'm sick. Bad TV's excusable) I was lusting after the lady-like perfection of a light pink. This isn't opaque enough, but it would be if I added another two coats (I'm at two in the pic). It's darker than my inspiration, which means I need to find a lighter version. Still, I love it.


Color Club Tru Passion (the purple) and Sexy Siren (the blue). My scarf is creeping into the shot. Lovely polishes.

Love this. ChG Agent Lavender, F21 Salmon, F21 Purple, Ulta Blue Streak, SH Mellow Yellow, and DC Matte Black. BM plate 16.
Though some products were given to me for review, I test all polishes fairly.

Why such a huge gap? Because this mani's been on my nails for 6 days! And not one chip, a record on me for sure! Seriously, I loved this. It's SH Lacey Lilac with SH Hidden Treasure and Inglot XL2 on top. So complex and shimmery :)

Quick Ulta Haul + Essence Hang Loose

All this for $6. I used a few coupons :)

This color (Essence Hang Loose) is stunning. Really, it's jelly like and delicate and perfect. I'm always impressed with Essence, their sheer pink is my Holy Grail french mani pink. Seriously, this is good stuff for under $2.
But, they have a habit of changing colors that are already out. Want to see what I mean?
Essence What Do U Think? use to be a coral creme. Now it's lighter, oranger, melon-y-er, and has gold shimmer. A substantial difference. But they're still calling it the same polish!(I have no clue why the picture is upside-down or how to fix it... I hate Blogger)

200th post!!!!! Oh, and a haul!

Hiya! This post marks the 200th post on this blog. Wow. That's major! Today I bought a couple polishes, well, actually, today I bought five polishes. I bought $OPI Leaf Him at the Alter and It's Bouquet With Me, Hot Topic Bright Lavender(according to the website), OPI Hot & Spicy, and Icing Dark and Stormy. When I first saw the OPI Hong Kong collection, I fell in love with Jade is the New Black and Suzi Says Feng Shui. I didn't, however, like Hot & Spicy. In store, I loved Jade is the New Black, so I bought it. Today, Hot & Spicy mysteriously found it's way into my cart-thing in Trade Secret. Yeah, a pink-orange, it's unexpected love. The Icing I found 2 for $6, my friend and I split the deal, each one of us buying Dark and Stormy. The two $OPIs are stunning, 'nuff said. The Hot Topic looks amazing, like a pastely-bright purple. I love them all! Oh, and the big purchase for today? A Canon Powershot. My last camera was not great at full hand shots, this baby can handle it all. I wish it was more color-accurate and had better zoom, but oh well! I did swatch a couple of my new acquisitions. Here you all are!

OPI Hot & Spicy, this is a tad less pink, but, still a good Ott-light shot (3 coats, and still a bit streaky, maybe I'm applying a bit too thin)



$OPI Leaf Him at the Alter. Loved this online, liked it in store, hated it at home, adored it on the nail. A medium-dark green with silver shimmer. I thought it'd be sheer, and I've never been so happy to be wrong!

Whew! Okay this is the OPI Tiny Toybox mini set. It includes Glamour Game (a sheer taupe/lilac), Brand New Skates (a mid-toned grey with green, red, and gold shimmer that strongly resembles itty bitty flakies), Little Red Wagon (your average creme red. Blah), and Don't Toy With Me! (a deep-er berry red with pink shimmer). Even though I'm not a sheer kind of person, the stand-out here, at least for me, is Glamour Game. Who knows, I may even buy a full bottle!

Agent Lavender

Hullo, today I wore the lovely, dainty, specatcular, Agent Lavender from the China Glaze Opperation Color collection. This color is the most perfect lavender ever. It has a creme finish and looks a little chalky at first but that does even out after three coats. I had a little streaking and balding problem but that too dissapeared. Words cannot describe how much I love this polish. Ignore my medication (anti-maleria for the trip I'm taking in two weeks) and my cup in the background of these pics.
