Lippmann Maneater

This was a GOP at Nordies with any Lippmann purchase, essentially, it was free. It's so dark it looks black, which I hate. It's actually dark, dark brown. It looks like chocolate syrup.

Random SPAM

Uh, this is because I'm going to be a horrible person soon and blog infrequently. But it'll only be for a month. No, I'm not trying to bribe you with pretty colors *shifts eyes suspiciously*

Doesn't this look like Minx?

Don't mind the smearing! You can't see that in real life, but macro caught it....
This is the pink snowman from Rite Aid with SH Uptempo Plum over. I used the Bundle Monster plates, which a lovely MUA-er gave to me. How cute is this?

Now, by the way, I feel really bad for saying no more giveaways. Yes, I was (and still am a bit) frustrated that with so many followers I feel so forgotten, but that stems from issues outside of this blog and it's not really you guys' fault. So, there may be a giveaway, it would just have to happen after my really hectic January. I'm sorry for going off on you like that.

A few quick notes:

Firstly, you may have noticed my REALLY long blog roll, complete with pictures. I use this instead of following blogs to keep track of blogs I like reading. If you blog isn't on there, let me know! I do try to limit my blog roll to blogs I actually really like. There are some qualifications that aren't super important, I like nails that I like, not too long, not bitten down past the quick. It's not that I won't follow you if you're not a recovering nail biter, but seeing nice nails that are (relatively, I know it's challenging) nicely manicured makes me happy. Also, I'd prefer blogs to feature polishes I can get, otherwise I lemm and lemm and just end up heart broken. And, lastly, the blogs have to be updated at least once every month. Otherwise they are taking up valuable space on my blog roll! Exceptions for this would be if the blogger is going through a hard time or on vacation and the absence is not normal for them.
Basically, I like seeing pretty polish on pretty nails pretty frequently. If you have nails that you polish and then blog about, let me know and I'll add you to the blog roll!

Next, I have 308 followers. This is amazing/fantastic/unbelievable. Now, where are you all? I have over 300 followers that visit my blog (I have a counter ^-^) and I get one, maybe two comments a post? I know bloggers that have fewer followers but loads more comments. It just makes me feel like I'm talking to myself, you know? I know there are some stand-out posts (Galaxy Nails) that garner attention, but it'd be nice to see a little love even when I don't spend an hour on my nails. I don't think I'll be doing a giveaway soon because of this, I think most of my followers followed just for the chance of free stuff (shame, shame) and now don't read my blog anymore. I don't want more followers just out to earn stuff, so I don't think a giveaway will be coming in the near future.

Lastly, I'm sorry for this rant. I know y'all are here to see polish, not listen to me list why I'm a bit upset. So, polish!
$OPI Bare to Be Different. Because I like sheers.

GALAXY NAILS TUTORIAL

Okay, I did it as promised :)
I'll go through with pictures step by step, I hope it works for y'all!

Materials:
Base coat (I used CC Stuck on You)
A black polish (I used Sinful Colors What's Your Name)
A set of glitter in whatever colors you'd like (I used Martha Stewart)
A empty franken bottle (not a necessity but it's nice)
A paper to catch the extra glitter
Top coat. Lots of it (I used SH Insta-Dri)

Steps:
1) Paint nails with base coat.

2) Paint nails with black. I only used one coat.

3) Sprinkle black glitter sparingly over WET polish.

4) Sprinkle color one over WET polish.

5) Sprinkle color two, three, and four accordingly over WET polish.

6) Shake/tap excess glitter off onto paper.

7) Add top coat

8) Move on to next nail. This NEEDS to be done one nail at a time.

9) Now remember that frankening bottle I recommended you having? Add your excess glitter into there with some clear. It looks awesome. (Nails on right, franken messily swatched on left)

10) Tada!

If you use this tutorial to do your own nails, please email me a picture! paintedtips@gmail.com

WOAH

Hi new followers :)
I'll have a tutorial up as soon as I make one, okay?

A new take on Galaxy Nails

Y'all know galaxy nails, right? The navy background, swirled with holos and sheers until it looks like a picture from a spaceship?
Well, this is better.

I'm thinking of making a tutorial, would anyone be interested?
I used the Martha Steward glitters and Sinful Colors What's Your Name.

CND Toxic Perfection

This is an old one. I got it in a swap, thinking it'd be an amped up Strawberry Fields, but it kinda dies on the nail. BOOOO.

Layering....

This is Inglot XL2 layered over Orly Out of This World, a shimmery purple. The close-up is of XL2, it's a sheer shimmer polish that flashes gold. SO PRETTY!

Where have I been?

New York!
Sorry about that....

Why such a huge gap? Because this mani's been on my nails for 6 days! And not one chip, a record on me for sure! Seriously, I loved this. It's SH Lacey Lilac with SH Hidden Treasure and Inglot XL2 on top. So complex and shimmery :)

Milestones

Big numbers. Wow, when I started blogging I never actually expected people to read my ramblings! It's been a little while now and we're seeing big numbers. Huge numbers, at least for me. I'm one away from 300 followers, 2 away from 50,000 page hits since last July, and 8 posts over 300. Do you know how much that means to me?! To have stuck with this, and to have you all stick with me, is amazing. More than amazing, actually. It makes me so, so happy.
This blog has seen me through a lot. I graduated middle school and worked my way up to become a sophomore (a suffer-more, as we say). I've written through heart-break and scandal, everything from the obvious topic (nails) to bullying. And y'all have been through it all with me.
I guess I just really wanted to say thank you. Thank you for making my day that much brighter with your lovely comments and thank you for just being here. I look forward to hunderds more posts and (hopefully) hunderds more followers.

WOAH!

I'm one follower away from 300!
That's so cool! I suppose I should do a giveaway, but I don't have the funds right now. Maybe later? I will tell you, loyal followers will have a little bit more of a chance when I do one, I'm tired of people following just to get stuff.
On a happier note, nails!

Aztec nails + mint comparison :)

Aztec nails, pinky to index:
AA Butter, Essence The World's Coolest, RBL Smitten, SH Lacy Lilac, and Essie Mint Candy Apple.
The silver is LA Colors Art Deco.
Basically, these are AWESOME in real life.

The mints, pinky to index:
Miki Mini (unnamed), Essie MCA, SH Mint Sorbet, Maybelline Minty

Minty is significantly darker than the rest, MCA is bluer, Mint Sorbet is the most yellow based green.

SH Mint Sorbet

I found this at my Ulta, apparently it's new. Three super thin coats, perfect consistency. Best mint I've ever used. I plan to do a MCA/Maybelline Minty/ Miki mini comp. tomorrow.
